Ripstik Caster Board Review
The Ripstik Caster Board is becoming increasingly popular, almost to the level of a craze. Grown men, Grandma’s, and 3rd cousins have all been swept up by this strange new device. What exactly is it? A hoverboard, surf board, skateboard hybrid? Yeah, something like that.
The caster board has a pivoting deck and 360-degree caster trucks which enable the rider to perform tricks and moves that resemble something like “carving” on a snowboard. Spiked traction pads, kick tail and nose, and concave deck design set this board apart from the average skateboard. The board has a 220-pound rider weight capacity. Quite a number of Reviewboard Interns busted their junk attempting to become the next Tony Hawk on this silly device. Without kicking, or pushing off you accelerate by pivoting the two…err…board things. While this seems like a sure-fire way to get nowhere very slowly it’s actually just as fast if not faster than kicking off on a skateboard.
The initial ride of this thing is sort of like riding a rather large block of ice on a hot griddle. It takes a truly athletic, coordinated, well-balanced person to attempt to ride this. Don’t think you’ll master it as quickly as the ollie, either!
The Ripstik Caster Board has caught on like wild fire for good reason. Providing us with tons of laughs around the office, we can only imagine how anyone else can feel when they take their first “Ripstik Trip” and fall
