A modern washer in a retro design

I’m always jealous when I see that a friend’s laundry room has a sink in addition to a washer and dryer. But getting a sink into the laundry room that doesn’t already have the necessary plumbing is an expensive hassle. Which is why this retro-style washing machine with an integrated sink from Smeg is so brilliant. Also, it’s pink, and super cute.

With an 11-pound capacity, this machine is smaller than we’re used to seeing here in the States, but it’s a standard size in Europe.

And by the way, don’t let the ’50s-style exterior fool you: open the door to reveal a thoroughly modern machine with five buttons, 15 programs, variable spin speeds, an LCD screen, Aquastop (a water detection and leak prevention system), and other contemporary amenities.

It’s also energy efficient, rated AAA, which is similar to our Energy Star ratings here.

The sink on top is about 12 inches by 13 inches by 5 inches deep, perfect for hand washing a few items.

And did I mention the pink? How cute is that?

The shiny, black Canon Pixma MG8120 color inkjet multifunction printer (which performs printing, copying, and scanning), is nothing if not cool-looking—the control panel integrated into the top lid is a must-see. But it also produces smooth text output at decent speeds, and its replacement ink cos...

The smartphone space has become really competitive, especially in the past year, and it's packed with a wide variety of great devices. However, as far as GPS-enabled smartphones go, Pharos is trying to outdo the competition by including navigation software on the handset, so you're not required to s...
