The NinX Advanced HTPC is the proverbial beast. The unit is small (6.5″ x 7.9″ x 10.3″), and perfectly designed. A sleek, glossy, well-polished case ensures an eye-catching, yet subtle addition to any home theater set-up.

Speaking of, set-up is simple. The unit comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit pre-installed, and one could literally plug it directly into the HDTV display and from start up be able to watch 1080p HD video. The NinX Advanced HTPC is loaded to the brim, with a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom processor, an onboard NVidia GeForce 9400M graphics card, 2 GB DDR2 800MHz or a 4 GB maximum, 22x DVD Burner or a 8x Blu-ray/DVD Combo drive, ASUS AT3N7A-I Motherboard, and 500 GB or 1 TB Green hard drive, you can see why your current receiver just looks shabby in comparison. Yes, we frowned, too.

Any mode of entertainment is achievable with the Advanced HTPC, storing entire collections of videos, photos, backups, and music on one central unit is unparalleled. The ability to play, rip, and burn DVDs or Blu-Rays while you watch the latest episode of Fringes, comfortably from your couch… Well, that’s a great feeling.

The NinX Advanced HTPC is unique because the possibilities are not limited to the traditional home theater receiver. This is a well-built, virtually silent, powerful computer designed into a compact unit that fits in perfectly next to the TV speakers. An excellent addition to any serious home theater set-up.

May 30, 2010 | Featured Articles | 2 Comments

The Sony Vaio VGN-NW270F/S is a stylish, spacious laptop for high-definition fans with low budgets. For a reasonable $699 at Best Buy, the Vaio NW270 outclasses the majority of its mainstream competition by including a Blu-ray drive. Blu-ray movies look crisp and sharp on its wide-screen 15.5-inch d...

Want Smooth Lips? Lips go GaGa for Walnuts!

May 30, 2010 | Featured Articles | 2 Comments

Darlings, do you get chapped lips? I do. Mine occasionally will start to appear dry and chapped, and in the winter (and sometimes summer) they crack. Ugh. But, health experts say that why a good lip balm can help, so can your diet. The key to preventing chapped lips is eating more of this food, say ...

Peek Pronto Cell Phone Review

May 30, 2010 | Featured Articles | 2 Comments

Last year when we reviewed the Peek, we ragged on it for being an e-mail-only handheld. It just did not seem worth it to us to pay $100 for the device and still have to fork out $20 a month for only e-mail. Still, we liked the design, and its simplicity and ease of use were all huge positives. We al...
