Epic 600 MX Treadmill Review

Epic treadmills are built by the same company who make ProForm equipment. ProForm became famous in fitness equipment circles for their innovative space saver treadmills. These were very popular at the time and enabled ProForm and the manufacturer to start building more treadmills. Today they use the latest technologies and design and the Epic 600 MX treadmill is a good example of this.

The speed and incline are the stand out features of this treadmill and this is because they go so high. The incline goes to 12% and the speed 12 mph. This is a lot higher than most and is one of the highest you’ll find in Epic or ProForm treadmills. When you consider a male jogging is around 6 mph then 12 mph is a very fast run. Certainly not one you could keep up for very long if at all.

The incline and speed can be changed at the touch of a button so you don’t have to even scroll through different numbers. For example you can go from 0% to 5% incline with one button press and the incline is gradually changed for you. This can be done with the speed too so you can concentrate on your running and less on the treadmill. This is good for everyone who likes to concentrate on their running.

The 8 workout programs are divided into 6 which come in different varieties depending on your workout aim. Whether it’s weight loss or an aerobic type workout you’ve got a choice here. The other 2 are the heart rate programs, these enable you to run at the optimum level for your body. Using the heart rate sensors the levels in the treadmill change to keep your heart rate beating at the best level for you as you run.

There are also 4 create and save workouts where you can program the treadmill to build your own workout routine. This can be stored for future use. It’s a nice feature to have if you fancy different workouts form those available. The running surface is long and wide so you can be confident on your run whether you’re tall or short or have a long stride you can be sure the treadmill can take you.

The running deck is specially cushioned so it’s far kinder to run on than the road. This is measured to be 15% better on the feet, legs and lower back compared to running on the road. A nice feature that will prove popular is the workout fan, you get to have a cool breeze blowing on you as you run. Overall the Epic 600 MX treadmill is an impressive treadmill that will give you years of good effective use.
