By leaving the direction of the air flow in the hands of the operator, Eureka has challenged other vacuum companies to rise to the same standards.

The Eureka 4870MZ Boss Smart Vac is the answer to cleaning edges, corners, and those stubbornly embedded puppy hairs that cling to your carpet fibers for dear life.

While many vacuum cleaner companies have tried to develop cleaning solutions for the corners and baseboard and floor joints, Eureka came up with perhaps the most innovative and practical model.

The 4870MZ Eureka Boss vacuum cleaner features the Direct Air Control System which permits you to determine whether the vacuum’s suction should be travel up from the brush bar or if you need all of the suction entering in through the extension wand.

By controlling the avenue of suction power in this manner, necessary performance does not dwindle while the air flow comes in from both directions. When air flow is not directed, it is not reaching its ultimate level and can slow down or stop providing suction altogether.

The Eureka Boss Smart Vac comes with a special attachment called the power paw. The power paw is designed to snag stubborn pet hair from stairs, upholstered furniture, and in some cases even the dog himself. The entire system is powered by a 12 amp motor, offers a brush bar complete with motorized action, and an easy on the fly switch to move from carpeting to bare floors, or vice versa.

The 4870MZ Eureka Boss vacuum has a unique HEPA filtration system. The filter itself is sealed within the unit, and the clean air system works to make sure that the HEPA filter traps more than 99% of the allergens, mold, and bacteria that is commonly found in room air.

This system also prevents the kick up of additional dirt and dust that other vacuums leave behind; adding another chore to your list as you dust what has escaped from the vacuum.

The 4870MZ Eureka Boss vacuum relies on a powerful 12 amp motor and a triple featured dirt trapping system to ensure that your housecleaning chores are as simple and thorough as possible. The addition of the 15 inch wide cleaning path helps to minimize efforts while maximizing results.

Reaching more than 5 times it original length, the vacuum hose can extend for attachments, high reach cleaning, and cleaning efficiently behind furniture. Combined with a power cord that reaches about 30 feet in length, the cleaning range for the Eureka Boss vacuum cleaner is actually about 50 feet in any given direction. This cuts down on cleaning time and allows you to be more productive.

The brush bar offers 7 various height adjustments to match the appropriate carpet height. Naturally, the brush bar can be switched off for the vacuuming of bare floors. The on board tools are set up within easy reach for efficient cleaning and quick nozzle changes.
Advantages
The 4870MZ Eureka Boss vacuum cleaner has many advantages over competitive vacuums in its class and price range. Since cleaning is more effective with a sealed HEPA filter to prevent dust scatter, household chores take less time. The air flow direction control allows you to receive much cleaner results, for your time by concentrating the powerful suction toward the appropriate area.

Housecleaning chores are further reduced with the super long stretch extension hose and the lengthy power cord allowing you to cover more ground in a shorter period of time. Additionally, the extra wide cleaning path means fewer passes with the vacuum cleaner for faster, more effective cleaning.
Disadvantages
Weighing in at around 20 pounds, the Eureka Boss Smart Vac is heavy and can be cumbersome to carry up and down steps. An automatic retracting cord would be a nice feature to add to this vacuum.

The control lever which turns off the brush bar for bare floor cleaning has sometimes a tendency to be stubborn the first several times you use it. But in the end, it works as designed.

I'm the first one to bash T-Mobile, their customer service has in the past (and I was a customer for many years) sucked.  However, I have to say I am very impressed to learn that T-Mobile maybe stepping up their game.  Florida resident Celina Aarons got a cell phone bill from T-Mobile for over $...

Dell Inspiron i560-4000NBK Desktop Computer Review

July 6, 2010 | Featured Articles, Household Products | 1 Comment

The retail-only Dell Inspiron i560-4000NBK offers little to get excited about. You'll get decent performance from this $599 dual-core midtower, but a less expensive system from Gateway is faster. Dell offers an 802.11n wireless networking adapter and a little extra RAM in exchange, but we can't say ...

Oki C6000n Review

July 6, 2010 | Featured Articles, Household Products | 1 Comment

With fast print speeds and high recommended monthly print volume, the Oki C6000n is clearly a printer for small work groups. For $700, you get a well-equipped, network-ready printer that produces great text and so-so graphics. (You'll have to pay an additional $150 if you need a built-in duplexer.) ...
