Panasonic Introduces the GT25 Plasma Line

Panasonic’s 3D plasmas have met with some fine reviews, but they don’t satisfy every need.  They’re big, to start with.  That might not be a problem for most, but in rooms with limited space, a 60 inch set just won’t do.

Enter the GT25 line.  There are currently two models in Panasonic’s new line, in both 42 and 50 inch sizes.  They share many of the features of the already established VT25 sets but with a significantly lower price point.  The 42 inch TC-P42GT25 comes in at $1,699 while the 50 inch TC-P50GT25 goes for $2,099.

The GT25 line incorporates Viera Cast, Panasonic’s web based service suite.  You’ll get access to Netflix, Amazon on Demand, YouTube and Twitter, among others.  You can also use Skype with the GT25 sets, though you’ll need to pick up a webcam that’s sold separately.

And of course, 3D is a key feature.  You’ll need to pick up glasses to use with your television, but with the GT25 you’ll be able to convert 2D to 3D with the touch of a button.

Yamaha YSP-4100 Digital Sound Projector Review

August 26, 2010 | Featured Articles | Comments Off

I’ve had the opportunity to review several soundbar systems over the last year, and Yamaha’s YSP-4100 is the best-sounding unit yet. Then again, this is no ordinary soundbar but what Yamaha calls a Digital Sound Projector. The YSP-4100 is long: it measures 40.25 inches wide, stands nearly 8.5 in...

August 26, 2010 | Featured Articles | Comments Off

A few short years ago, Retro Studios wrapped up its GameCube and Nintendo Wii Metroid Prime trilogy, a three-part adventure that led up to the original NES classic. But there's far more to be told about this intergalactic bounty hunter, and Metroid: Other M is the official continuation of the Metroi...
