Since everything is getting smaller and more compact these days, one wonders why Grandstream Networks is creating stand alone phones (you know those old relics that rang from a kitchen counter and could not fit in your pocket). The idea of a stand-alone phone seems so out of the loop that one wonders why the company produces something that seems obsolete. However the GXV3140 IP Multimedia Phone by Grandstream Networks is not a nostalgic toy for retro lovers who crave all things eighties. This phone does everything you’re PC can in a sleek design that consolidates all your phone and internet needs into one product with exceptional quality.

The GXV 3140 Multimedia Phone offers state of the art technology that provides crystal clear video and voice calling worldwide. The beauty of the GXV 3140 is the easy installation that gets you going in no time. By simply plugging the phone in, you are ready to explore and utilize all the GXV3140 has to offer and what it offers is a lot.

Starting with the 4.3’’ digital TFT color LCD (480×272 resolution), the GXV3140 provides a clear and exceptional screen to conduct video conferencing and calls that improves the quality of a consumer’s conversations whether for business or pleasure. Being able to see who you are speaking to makes all the difference in the world as now you can see  your child’s smile as well as your boss rolling her eyes.

The GXV3140 comes equipped with all the bells and whistles you need to not only make video and voice calling, but also let you roam the internet. With the multimedia phone’s ease of operation, you no longer have to wait for your PC to boot up to begin surfing the Web. The GXV3140 provides a web browser, IM with Yahoo/MSN/Google, RSS feeds of weather, stocks and news. It doesn’t end there. The GXV3140 also offers internet radio, music/video streaming/playing from SD/USB card/internet, Yahoo Flickr web photo album, alarm clock, calendar, games, music ring tones and more. On top of all that the GXV3140 is capable of handling nine languages (English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, Italian, German and Portuguese). For a list price of $249, the GXV3140 Multimedia IP Phone has everything you need and then some which places this product at the zenith of multimedia phones.

The technical specifications of the GXV3140 leave nothing to be desired. Grandstream Networks has provided everything but the kitchen sink when they created this model. The network ports are dual switched 10M/100M auto-sensing Ethernet ports. The camera installed in the GXV3140 is a tiltable 1.3M pixel CMOS camera with privacy shutter. The sleek exterior of the GXV3140 offers a black ABS plastic, 2-angle stand along with 18 function keys including 4 programmable soft keys. The GXV3140 also has 5 navigation keys, line, message, phone book, local view, transfer, hold, conference, dial/send and speakerphone. The auxiliary ports the GXV3140 offers are SD/MMC/SDHC, USB (2.0), a stereo headset with microphone, stereo audio output, TV CVBS output and an optional FXS/FXO port. The GXV3140 is security protected via SIPS/TLS/SRTP and AES.

The company that created this multimedia IP phone is Grandstream Networks who are proactive leaders in the production of next generation IP phones. Grandstream Networks, always being on the cutting edge of technology, has continuously created some of the most sought after phones in the industry. The quality and craftsmanship of their products are second to none and the ease of use that a product like the GXV3140 Multimedia IP Phone offers is a testament to the company’s stellar reputation.

At the end of the day we all want convenience. The GXV3140 offers everything you need with a convenience that is second to none. Thanks to Grandstream Networks peer-to-peer technology, the phone is ready to go right out of the box. There are no attachments that are needed as everything is built in.
