You have likely seen the commercials and wondered about the Whirlpool Duet Pair…  Well we had some time with these bad babies and I’m here to say as a matter of fact that Whirlpool “has the goods”.  The Whirlpool Duet Adaptive Clean Wash Precision Dispense is an innovative technology that tells the machine exactly how much water and detergent to use no matter what you put inside.  Their advertising says that they will keep your clothes looking newer longer and with less effort.  We wanted to put that to the test…

So the first thing we did is go over to Walmart and pick up a couple of Faded Glory brand shirts for $5 (they are blue).  We did 60 wash/dry cycles with the Whirlpool Duet Pair and 60 with an average washer and dryer that you might find at your parents house to see if there was a difference…  After all that is a pretty interesting claim… looking newer longer…

So a couple of things.  First WOW cheers to Walmart we had a betting pool to see how long the $5 shirts would actually last… both survived the ordeal and fairly well.  Whirlpool didn’t lie.  No liar liar pants on fire for them, the results were clear.  The Whirlpool Duet Pair was easier on the shirt somehow because the blue was more vibrant and the material felt stronger than the shirt that was washed in the average washer and dryer.

It was pretty cool too because we didn’t have to keep dumping detergent into the Whirlpool machine it holds up to 12 loads of laundry if you use the concentrated stuff so it lived up to the easier claim as well.

Another nice feature of the Whirlpool Duet Pair is the whole “Load. Leave. Love” thing.  They have a dynamic venting technology that lets you leave the wash in the washer.  Ever forget to switch them over before you crashed out for the night?  Wake up in the morning and groan because you have to re-wash… maybe you were even late for work because of it?  Not with the Whirlpool Duet Pair.  Wow… the built-in fan will “tumble” your clothes for up to 12 hours so you can leave them overnight.  Depending on the material in your washing machine that might even dry them if the load is small enough.

The dryer side of the Whirlpool Duet is pretty advanced as well.  You have an advanced moisture system that reduces shrinking by using built-in sensors designed to change the air temp and moisture levels in your dryer.  It is able to intelligently dry your clothes so that they come out dried and not cooked.  Your clothing no longer has to feel like a Thanksgiving Turkey!

The Whirlpool Duet has an Eco monitor feature that allows you to use low water temperature int he washer and less heat in the dryer.  That means easier on the clothing and better on the energy consumption… something everyone likes to see.  The waster has a 4.3 cubic foot capacity and the dryer has a 7.3 cubic foot capacity.  We were able to fit about 9 pairs of adult jeans and 3 shirts in the washer without an issue.

All in all we loved the Whirlpool Duet Pair.  We give it a 9 out of 10, they are beautiful and more importantly… they work well!

UFC Undisputed 2010 PSP Review

October 1, 2012 | Featured Articles, Household Products | No Comments

UFC Undisputed 2010 on PSP is going to be an interesting case study. Here, you have a portable port of a big budget PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 game.
