Bungee Virtual Lost and Found Review

[dropcap]B[/dropcap]ungee tags are pretty neat.  They started out as a crowdfunding campaign (that was successful) and now they have a website, a real product, and you can order it.  What makes this idea really neat is two things.  1) It’s about as simple as simple gets.  2) It relies on humans to be honest and that in an of itself is likely to be pretty surprising and fun (most of the time).

So you get this card in the mail, it has 1 lost wallet card, 1 lost keys tag, 3 small stick-on tags, 5 regular sized stick on tags, and 1 lost sunglasses tag.

You get 1 year of coverage for 10 bucks, lifetime for 25 and family lifetime for 75 (US).

Once you get the card you turn it over and on the back follow the instructions.  The process is you text your code (that is on each tag) and your email address to a phone number.  The information is processed and your cards are all activated.  Now you just put your sticker on the item you want to protect.

If someone finds the item (after you lost it) they just need to see the tag and text the code to the phone number on the tag.  You will instantly be notified and can make arrangements with the person to retrieve your property.  Now most of us are thinking… wow that will never happen where I live.  However, the Bungee team have video of them in places like Chicago and New York having iPods returned so you never know… for $25 you can protect 11 items for life.  It’s not a bad idea and wow wouldn’t it be great to trust in the human spirit a little more often?

I’ll give them 4 out of 5 stars for originality, and the concept of believing in your fellow man.  The Bungee Virtual Lost and Found is an excellent idea for our 2013 Father’s Day Gift List.
