2014 Exmark VTX730EKC524 52 inch Vantage X-Series Stand On Mower Review

The 2014 Exmark 52 Inch Vantage X-Series Mower (Model VTX730EKC524) is one of the best mowers that we reviewed in the Stand-On class of commercial mowers.  The new patented Enhanced Control System (ECS) takes a little getting used to.  Most of the systems we have used before require you to pull levers to make the machine move, the Exmark 52 Vantage X-Series with ECS moves and the levers you use brake the machine left, right or completely.

Once you get used to the ECS, you realize that it brings a lot to the table in the way of comfort.  It seems to give more direct control over tight turns, and because you only need to keep one hand on one of the safety bars to keep the machine moving you can switch off and rest a little on the long straight paths.  All in all it is a more comfortable ride and the ability to make tighter more controlled turns results in some really clean looking lawn stripes.

The Operator platform on the Exmark Vantage X-Series Mower has a rubber platform with a self-compensating suspension.  It is comfortable, however if you are a big guy (350lbs +) it can get tippy on you at high speeds, which is why I recommend that big guys get a sitting machine over a stand-on (no matter what brand you are using).

The hydro drive brings a really clean and fluid operation to the table.  The Exmark Vantage X-Series goes about 8 miles an hour (forward) and 4 (backward). The 52″ deck makes doing large properties quick and easy.
