iCoffee Opus Single Serve Coffee Brewer Review
The iCoffee Opus Single Serve Coffee Brewer is a pretty nice little single serve machine. What it brings to the table is a wide variety of k-style cup compatibility which gives you a larger variety of coffees, teas and hot beverages to choose from. They do have a pretty good marketing machine that talks about the spinbrew technology setting it apart from the other machines. The spinbrew technology basically stirs the stuff in the k-style cup while it is brewing. iCoffee claims that this technology makes it taste better than something that does not… stir the k-style cup.
So by now you know that I’m about to slam them a little for that. <grin> So consider that done. The coffee tastes the same as any of the other k-style cup machines.
The reality (at least in my humble opinion) is the iCoffee Opus is a solid single serve machine. What you need to know is three things:
- It’s pretty cheap – you can get it for about $100 on the net.
- It uses all kinds of k-style cups (even the knock offs). Gives you more options and it comes with a free version of their “My-Cup” that lets you make your own k-cup for it.
- It has a water container that is accessible so you can actually clean it. Some of the Keurig’s didn’t let you do that and it is nasty. Biofilm tends to build up in containers that have water in them (especially when you add heat to the equation).
I recommend the iCoffee Opus Single Serve Coffee Brewer. It would make an excellent gift, and can easily be put on a filing cabinet for office use. I give it a solid 4 stars.
