Janome Memory Craft 15000 Review

The Janome Memory Craft 15000 – Buck Rogers meets Sewing.

If you were lucky enough to get in on this new MC 15000 from Janome during the current promotional deal you will get an Apple iPad Air with Wi-Fi Only FREE with your order.  They are vanity units assigned to Janome and have the Janome name on the back. They come with 16GB and Janome software preloaded for use.

The Janome Memory Craft 15000 sports a huge touch screen display, and a myriad of great features INCLUDING the ability to change the LED lighting to colors that go with your decor, your mood, or just because!  I know that sounds a little excessive but it makes working with the MC 15000 fun, and if you have grandchildren you can have them help you while you make things and interest them with the different colors.  It’s a great way to get a new generation interested in something that may not be their cup of tea at first glance.

When you the on button for the MC 15000 it is like pressing the start button on a ultra modern Mercedes.  Janome has introduced a new safety feature that makes you lock the unit before you can thread it.  At first it is a bit of a pain in the butt to get used to but in the end it is better than a trip to the ER. After a day or two it’s second nature and you don’t give it another thought.
Scrolling through various designs on the enormous touch screen couldn’t be easier.  When you select the design you want and hit the start button the needle goes to work.  It tells you the time it will take, and the finished product is identical to the image on the screen.  It’s really light years away from anything in its class.
When the bobbin runs out the machine pauses, you change out the thread and hit start to continue.  Couldn’t be easier.
They have locked down a lot of things in the MC 15000.  For instance obviously there are little tweaks that need to be done depending on the brand and type of thread you are using.  It has programming info for all of this, so you know you are going to get the right results every time. Consistency is key in all things great and small.
The MC 15000 will do up to 200,000 stitches per design, compared to the MC 12000 (it does 100,000) it is a big improvement.
The MC 15000 can handle just about anything you throw at it:

  • Natural fibers/cotton-linen-wool
  • Fine fabrics/silk-satin-taffeta/velvet
  • Knits(Medium to heavyweight only)
  • Synthetic fabrics/blends-rayon-polyester
  • Upholstery
  • Leather/suede
  • Fur
  • Reptile skin
  • Canvas/Twill
  • Plastic/Rubber
  • Extra thick fabrics or multiple layers

I could go on and on all day about this Janome Memory Craft 15000 Embroidery Machine.  It’s really the best thing since sliced bread.  I give it 5 out of 5 stars and award it the 2015 Editor’s Choice Award.
